A Night of Film - The tradition is solidified.

A Night of Film started in 2007 with it’s “debut show”, a highlight being Billy Zabka’s Most. That night set a precedence that was surely repeated and improved upon this October 25th. When the lights when down ANOF began an emotional journey, never stopping until the final credits of the last film. Topics such as “death”, “abortion”, “a son’s redemption”, “our stained enslaved lives”, “conformity”, and “doing the unthinkable” hit the pristine screen at Coast HIlls Church in Aliso Viejo, CA. This is surely a sign of things to come.

Like ANOF claims, this is about finding the best of the best and showing it to an audience who loves cinema. The audience was clamoring as it headed to the free dessert after the show. The filmmakers were inundated with questions, conversations, and praises in the lobby and patio. I overheard many people saying “I didn’t know Christians were doing things like this”. That statement is why ANOF exists. To expose what God is doing through filmmakers who are submitting their lives to Christ.

A major highlight was the presence of Scott Rigsby. HIs documentary “Unthinkable - the Scott Rigsby Story” was placed as a “feature” of the night, climaxing with Scott walking on stage  “bionic legs” and all. His humility poured over the audience even after the standing ovation they so graciously offered. Scott is a class act. He is one of those guys who turns everyone to dust, leaving them with nothing to complain about. To learn more about his story watch the doc... and to learn more about his organization please visit his site.

So, what’s to come of ANOF - more of the same. It’s simplistic approach is what attracts both filmmakers and their fans. It’s simple - show up and enjoy... oh yeah,  and be inspired.

All year long ANOF searches for the best films created by filmmakers of the Christian faith.  We gather those films and exhibit them at A Night of Film. Films are played, followed by a Q & A with each filmmaker. The night is capped with a dessert that sets the mood for conversations, networking and hearing more from the filmmakers.

The vision is to bring two worlds together:

1) A film audience seeking something better for cinema.

2)Filmmakers of the Christian faith changing the face of cinema.
